The Discipleship and Evangelism Training Program

‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ - Deuteronomy 15:11

The Discipleship and Evangelism Training Program is designed to help bring awareness among the Church’s congregation about the plight of society’s most vulnerable especially in the Anacostia D.C. neighborhood, and how Biblical principals will equip each member. Members who join this program will be able to expand their knowledge of God, His love, and how He affects their lives and the world. This program include classes that cover spiritual discipline, Jesus’ life and mission, and ways to help strengthen a person’s ability to spread His Word among the suffering. Other aspects of this program will also include:

  • Orienting new members for discipleship, personal, and family ministry
  • Teaching the Church’s doctrine, ethics, history, and church polity

Ultimately, the program aims to encourage community volunteering and outreach participation from the Church’s congregation, which are further detailed below.

Soup Kitchen

The Church will also have a feeding room/soup kitchen at its premises to help feed people from the street after regular church services. Food will be sourced from donations derived from the Church’s activities and will also be supplemented from revenues acquired from the operation of the addiction treatment center. The Church believes these activities can help provide the first step to better awareness and empathy for the society’s most vulnerable.

Youth Outreach Programs

The Church will also conduct regular youth outreach programs to help forge closer relationships with young individuals within Prince Georges County. The goal of this program is to help adolescents develop a positive self-image, effective life management skills, and achievable goals through an engaging ministry and a community filled with other like-minded individuals. The program will provide the youth with mentors, teach them biblical principles to help them filter the challenges of life, as well as develop compassion for the vulnerable through community volunteer work.

Men and Women’s Ministries

The objective of these ministries is to engage both men and women in mission activities. Individuals who participate in this work will be expected to teach, pray for, and give to missions. Furthermore, these ministries will be expected to provide personal ministry for other adults and children with respect to their gender while providing adequate opportunities for fellowship.

Emotions On Canvas

EOC is an emotional outlet that will help us to define our abstract lives through art in a way that helps to bring healing. Whether you enjoy sketching, painting, drawing, coloring, we have it all At the House of Myriad, so that you can really take your emotions out on the canvas, instead of upside somebody’s head. When you feel like life is dealing you a deck of wild cards and you just feel like exploding, take it out on the canvas. When you're stressed, instead of clouding your mind with weed and Henny, relax your mind on canvas. you board? don’t go looking for mischief to get into , get creative on canvas. Your life seems all over the place, declutter your mind on canvas. This canvas is another way that God can minister to you through art and color, as He is truly the Architect of our Abstract lives. So we’ll have the opportunities to gather in small groups on scheduled times or private sessions by appt only, where Isaiah will help to teach us creative ways to do art on canvas, we’ll also learn and understand colors better, to help us understand how we’re feeling. I bet you didn’t know color defines emotion? That blue can identify emotions of loyalty and trust, while green can pull-out or identify finantial and environmental emotions…that’s Deep right? Man God is everywhere! Yes, even in color, and we’re gonna let Him minister to us even through COLOR. At the end of your sessions, You’ll have the opportunity to hang your art up at the House of Myriad, where once a year during our Art Show Gallery, you can come and give the meaning behind your emotions on canvas, to give someone else the opportunity to purchase your ART, and it’s up to you to either donate it back to the ministry which will help someone else, just like it helped you, or you can use the proceeds for whatever you may stand in need of! Yea, during EOC, we Go hard in the paint in a way that’s life changing and liberating. Isaiah 64:8, says “but now O Lord, you are our Father, we are the clay, and You our potter; and we all are the work of your hand.” EOC is making a point that no matter what it looks like, Jesus Christ is the shaper, and the molder and creator of your something beautiful. No matter how ugly it may look at times, He IS designing something great, if we would just be patient and surrender every area of our lives to HIM.
